Kyoto was surprisingly not as bright as people made me believe it would be, I had to warm up to the place, and I stayed for 3 days. I walked in the business part of the city, which was okay, and visited some shrines. As I had been 'overshrined' in Kamakura, I left out many of the main attractions and just oriented myself to the specific Kyoto atmosphere. The restaurants and cafés near the city river were worth the visit, many traditional young couples seem to take an evening stroll in that area, and it adds to the authenticity atmosphere of what Kyoto is about. Most marvelous food again, and I enjoyed the guesthouse. After Tokyo I became a real fan of the K-house guesthouse chain and it became my point of travel decision, I would go where there would be a K-house !
Here some shots of the city Kyoto, taken the first arrival day.
