Kawaguchiko is the city that is most visited to travel to the Fuji Yama, the sacred mountain of Japan. I arrived there in April 2015 (for the 2nd time) and was blessed with the sakura (cherry blossom trees) blooming still, although it was a late emergence of the flowers. Walking amongst those trees that bloom only one month a year (so goes the story), was like walking in fairy tale.
Early in the year, the scenery was blissfully calm and most strolling people were Japanese people, all quietly going about their discovery of natural Japan.
You have to imagine being there, feel the wind, the soft clouds provide shelter from the sun, there is a sense of spring enthusiasm not yet tired of the coming people rush, where all is being handled within the right balanced flow of giving and taking. Teas and coffees are given with great care and loads of respect towards the visitor.
Japanese people behave with a honorable attitude and to the foreigner the language represents a barrier which is swiftly replaced by a sensory communication. Subtle and joyful people, also sometimes very serious, especially the business people, they have no time for much beauty or flowers. It is a mindset. I like to be here, in Japan.
